Case study: Swiss Mobiliar's SMS Meteo Alarm

ASPSMS Soap Web Service 2 (ASPSMSX2) is used for sending SMS messages about the meteorological risk.

Swiss Mobiliar's SMS Meteo Alarm gives you early warning free of charge of meteorological danger in one or several out of 152 different areas. You are free to specify the area(s) yourself. Once the situation worsening, a warning is issued by SMS. The division into regional warning regions allows a high accuracy of the forecasts. Individually selectable types of meteorological dangers and levels ensure that each customer receives information that is tailored to their needs only once. The SMS Meteo Alarm warns of thunderstorms, rain, storms, heat waves, frost, snow and slick road conditions starting from danger level 3.

Development of ETH Zurich

The Mobiliar's SMS Meteo Alarm was developed in collaboration with MeteoSwiss and the ETH Zurich. MeteoSwiss, the Federal Office of Meteorology and Climatology is monitoring the atmosphere over Switzerland at 700 locations.
